South Korean Memorial Day

About this event

Today is Korean Memorial Day (현충일) 🇰🇷. Since 1956, June 6th is a day that’s observed to honor the soldiers and civilians who sacrificed their lives for South Korea, especially during the Korean War. At 10 AM in South Korea, a nationwide siren sounds off, and a moment of silence is started for a full minute. Flags are flown at half-mast and ceremonies are held at national cemeteries. Schools, homes, and businesses take part in remembering those who served. 🕊️ Let us take a moment to remember and honor those who gave their lives for the country. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.🤍 Swipe through to learn more about this national holiday in remembrance of those lives lost.
